Tales from Peak District

This is a set of photos I'm really excited about.

Before I get into it, I followed this Peaks Collective guide to find the path to Winnat's Pass.

Towards the end of my exchange in England, photos of Winnats Pass, a popular spot in Peak District National Park, popped up a ton on my social media. Being only an hour or so away, I dragged my friends Steph and Nada to find this stunning location.

We took the train from Leeds to Sheffield, then took a scenic bus ride from Sheffield to Castleton.
Castleton, surrounded by green hills.
Village quirks.
To get to Winnat's Pass, we had to walk out of Castleton. Despite having some pedestrian sidewalks, walkways quickly disappeared, so the path is not the most friendly for hikers without cars. We almost got ran over a few times, since we were sharing the road with cars.

We almost gave up the trek because it became too dangerous, but we finally found the entrance to the trail. After hiking alongside lots of sheep, we were greeted with vast green hills and an overlook of farmlands nearby, as well as Castleton.

Steph, soaking it all in.

Our descent back down was a little rough. Deciding to take a new route, we had to go down several steep areas, most of which could've been fatal with a wrong step (unfortunately not exaggerating). Many "paths" were also surrounded by prickly weeds, so falling means weird hives appearing on our bodies.

Despite some risky decisions, this is one of my favourite trips from exchange. It's truly a place where photos don't do it justice (but I tried anyway).
