Washington, DC

Kodak Funsaver disposable from a trip over the Labour Day weekend with Aliciya and Belinda, my close friends and second-year roommates.

I shot a lot with disposables this year purely for the convenience of it, and while they're compact and lightweight, I think the quality is a bit too low for me to handle now that I've been using my Fuji FZ-2000 more.

Washington was hot and sticky this time of year, but the nights were breezy and comfortable while we were there.

Cool sign at Union Market.

Leece and Belinda (and their ketchup & mustard outfits) at one of the Smithsonian museums.

Abe ft. dude with a touristy shirt.

Wrapped up a good day at the Mall.

I never understand a thing at greenhouses, but I love them nonetheless.

The Hirshorn was my favourite museum there.

We also made a brief visit to Georgetown University and the town itself, which was exactly how I envisioned a stereotypical American university experience would be like. I think 15 year-old me who read a ton of YA fiction would've freaked out visiting a place like this back then.

We finished our trip off with a last walk at the National Mall.

I didn't expect DC to wow me, since vast landscapes or anything nostalgic to my childhood usually do (which DC lacks both of). But I can't deny the power and influence of the city, which you can literally *smell*. Belinda, who's American, always joked that she'd point out all the lobbyists at restaurants for us. Pretty crazy how decisions made here are world-changing; that's pretty damn wowing to me.
