Iceland, 2019

I never published any of my photos from Iceland a year ago, in hopes of pitching it to a magazine and not putting it elsewhere first. I never found the right publication for it, so in typical fashion, I'm posting this for self-reflection much later on.

These are all shot on a Kodak disposable.

I went on this trip with a large group of friends; I think Iceland is a good place to do that, since we weren't in anyone's way and were able to take our time in places we liked.

---

We bean the trip in Reykjavik and did some exploring around the city. It's a cozy place, always photogenic (as with the rest of the country). The city look empty in these photos, but it was nice and lively in some nooks.

Aliciya and Veronica, during a neighbourhood stroll.

We then began our journey around the country, starting from the south and hitting the major tourist sites.

Friðheimar: an indoor tomato farm with great soup.

We took a slight detour from major sites to this more hidden swimming pool (Seljavellir). It's not exactly a secret, but the walk towards the pool area made it feel that way.

This waterfall was just right behind our Airbnb (can see it out the bathroom window).

And you can see our little Airbnb in this photo.

Girl reading in a local seafood restaurant.

The landscape changed quite a bit by the time we got to Northeast Iceland. We were pretty tired by the mid-point of our trip, and I wish we had spent an extra night or two in the area.

Akureyri is such a special city. Darrell, V, and I walked to a grocery store around 11pm with the daylight fading. I felt like I was a local in a seaside town.

One of the last days.

Due to WOWAir complications from last year, I stayed an extra night in Reykjavik with Darrell and Ced, though they settled in a home a tad outside of town.

I stayed at Kex Hostel and met a new friend; we went to the museum together.

Darrell and Ced came to visit me at the hostel in the evening of my last night, and we attended jazz night at the bar.

The bar during emptier times.

We ended the night by sneaking upstairs and drinking unfinished wine from the trip by the window, admiring the sea (and taking lots of photos). I miss this a lot.

Also, the blogger post editor high key sucks. Please fix it :(

The end.
