A series of photos from Budapest and Vienna.

Cailey and I took an overnight bus from Poland, a very uncomfortable journey due to chatters and incredibly neck-stiffing seats. I remember taking a pit-stop in Slovakia, where I got off the bus to stretch my legs and was met with bitter cold and high volumes of snow. It was in the middle of nowhere, in contrast to what I'd thought was a bathroom stop. The driver lit a cigarette in the dark while a young couple threw snowballs playfully at each other. We continued our bus ride a few moments later and arrived in Budapest in the early morning.

At one of the coolest cafes ever. |
We wandered around the city on no sleep, spacing out occasionally while exploring alongside the Danube.

At the Ludwig Museum, recommended by my Hungarian flatmate. |

St. Stephen's Basilica. |
Some cities are characterized by incredible sunsets. Florence is one of them, which is a place I've visited later on, but Budapest was most definitely filled with sunset bliss every night.

Rushing over to the Buda side for a higher view. |

The incredible gothic structure of the Hungarian Parliament. |

Climbing up the steep hills to the Buda Castle. |
Gellert Hill was one of my favourite sights in Budapest. I would really recommend a walk around the hill rather than through its main path to catch glimpses of the Danube.
The following photos are from Vienna.

In Albertina Museum, which is lovely in all ways. |
Vienna pleasantly took me by surprise. The city was not one that I anticipated with excitement when I headed out for the Easter trip. However, it was filled with amazing architecture and some of the most beautiful streets I saw on the journey. The weather was extremely pleasant, too, since we were met with chilly winds of April beforehand. I'm also not a huge fan of crowded places, but quietness was not difficult to seek on the side streets of the city.
