35mm abroad (iv)

This is the last set of photographs in the 35mm series. I'm well adjusted back in my home university now, beginning my fourth year. The exchange seems so distant in the past. It's a little strange to revisit these memories in order to come up with captions and descriptions, but I'm grateful to have these photos as evidence of some great times in my life.

The following photos are from Prague, which, to be quite honest, wasn't my favourite out of the trip. The crowdedness got in the way of beautiful landmarks. Nevertheless, the hostel we stayed at, Czeched Inn (ha), was definitely a highlight. We were in an apartment style suite that was uniquely designed (the centrepiece of the common area was a chandelier-like art piece made of hangers), and Cailey and I bumped into a Canadian friend from Leeds when we checked in, which was one of those encounters that make the world seem a little smaller.

Prague's iconic red roofs.

We caught an extremely early flight to Amsterdam from Prague, the last and only destination in Western Europe. I can't rave enough about this city other than that my new dream is to work and live there. The quiet streets alongside the canals were probably the selling point, and I can imagine myself strolling down in the future.
the dreamiest architecture.

Amsterdam by dusk was magical.

Vondelpark, right beside our hostel.

I also visited a cat museum while I was in the city (Cailey visited the flower market since she had no interest in this).

Tulips at the flower market.

Taken from our boat tour; it's certainly touristy but a must-do.

The rest of the photos are scattered from my trip to St. Andrews, where one of my Western friends was doing an exchange and where one of my high school friends went to school full-time. It was a perfect weekend from train ride to nighttime hangouts by the sea. Looking at these brings me right back, I miss it so much.

I went back to school in Leeds after a month I'll never forget.
